We are lucky to have a very active group of parents who are making a positive impact on the school environment and sense of community at Toynbee.
The steering group meets regularly each term to plan events which raise money for significant school projects which would otherwise not be possible to go ahead. Recently, for example, they have contributed over £5,000 for the Theatre refurbishment, £3,000 for Sports Hall refurbishment and they pay for the Free Reading Book Scheme which ALL pupils receive in Year 7 as part of our drive to raise literacy standards and promote a love of reading for pleasure. Many other projects are in the pipeline.
The PTA arranges Quizes, Prom fayres, Christmas Craft Fayres and gets involved with school life and events such as Drama & Dance performances and the Community Poppy Day. It is important to realise that whilst the PTA play an important fund raising role, we equally value their significant contribution to building community cohesion, for example they worked in partnership with the Pupil Leadership Team during Charity Week and put on a tremendously successful evening with live bands and comedy acts.

Friends of Toynbee Music
The aim of the Friends is to support the extra curricular work of the Music department. The group is made up of volunteer parents who raise money through a range of events throughout the school year. Even if you do not wish to join the group, your support at music fundraising events will be appreciated. Please look out for these on the school calendar.
Over the last 15 years the 'Friends' have raised a considerable sum of money to purchase many orchestral instruments and other much needed, but expensive equipment for the department.
The Friends of Toynbee Music group is always looking for more parents to help at events, or join us in raising more money.
Any parent wishing to help and support should contact Miss Parrott, Head of Music, for email@example.com
