... Our GCSE results this year are excellent, with 25% of pupils gaining A/A* grades in their exams.
When the opening line of your Ofsted report begins, “In this harmonious and inclusive school,” you know that Toynbee School is a special place with a great ethos that encourages pupils to learn.
We believe that full participation in school life through educational visits, school clubs, out of school activities, leadership work and community involvement, will ensure that students do their ‘personal best’ during their school career with us and enhance their personal development.
Our academic curriculum gives students a flexible and broad range of qualification routes to choose from and this is important to us in developing everyone’s talents and abilities alongside their personal skills. One aspect of school life which enhances our ethos is our specialist resource centre for Visually Impaired pupils. Our school community benefits hugely from such an inclusive approach.
Students at Toynbee are encouraged to set stretching personal targets and have regular 1:1 meetings with their tutor and parents to ensure that their progress is carefully tracked and monitored. We want every student to fulfil their potential.
Visiting the school you will be impressed by our students; they are good ambassadors for the school who demonstrate their enjoyment of school life and engagement in their learning.
